Templars Staircase

"Templars' Staircase was shot at an old farmhouse in the countryside of Provence. Against the backdrop of the ancient farmhouse walls, someone took great care to aesthetically place these well-used pots on the stairway. The contrasts of color and history speak about the humility of both object and place.

The photograph is part of a project called Out of Place that I am working on in the south of France. I think all of my workphotos, paintings, and drawingsaddress the same issue of transformation in the face of global trends." Julie Graham
